Make Videos of Support

Make a Video
Videos are an invaluable way of building online momentum and buzz. Media that can go viral demonstrates the grassroots nature of our support and advocacy. Promotional videos that help get the word out about June 12th are also an idea!

The focus of the videos can be on anything from prisoners of conscience, to the ongoing human rights abuses in Iran, to a hopeful video indicating you or your group’s firm commitment to supporting the Iranian people.

Below are some videos made from previous global days. Some of these videos received thousands of hits and went viral quickly, which means they most likely made their way back to Iran. You do not have to be a professional to make a video! Digital cameras, cell phones, and even laptop cameras are a great way to start.

Pre-made video slides (text) are available for download here. The slides are also organized into a slideshow below.

This video was made by the Dutch team for the July 25, 2009 Global Day of Action.

This is the video message that Archbishop Desmond Tutu made for the first global day of action last year on July 25th. This video added both credibility and increased awareness of the global day.

The video below is from last year’s June 12 Global Day of Action. Activists in South Africa marked the opening of the World Cup by  highlighting one year since Iran’s disputed June 2009 election.
